In 2018 over 8.6 million foreigners visited Georgia
In 2018, more than 8.6 million people visited Georgia, which is 9.8% more than in 2017. The figures were presented at a joint press conference of the Prime Minister of Georgia and the head of the Ministry of Economy on 4 January.
The number of tourists - international visitors, who spent a day and more in Georgia, in 2018 amounted to more than 4 million 756 thousand people, which is 16.9% more than last year.
According to preliminary data, as of January-November 2018, tourism has brought 3 billion dollars to Georgia’s economy. This figure is 19.3% more (486 million dollars) more in comparison with data for the same period last year.
