Armenia-Georgia border checkpoint new bridge to be opened in 2018
A new bridge at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo checkpoint is set to be launched in 2018, at the Armenian-Georgian border.
The respective construction working group met at this checkpoint with the representatives of more than a dozen companies that have applied to take part in the tender for the construction of this bridge, the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia informed.
The new bridge will have two separate coverings that will join the infrastructure of the current border checkpoint of Armenia to the corresponding infrastructure of Georgia.
In addition, it will have four lanes, which will further facilitate the quality of service, save time, and enable safe and comfortable passage at the checkpoint.
The planning and construction cost of this bridge is about €9 million.
The project will be implemented with the loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
