Government of Ukraine reduces immigration quota
On 13 February, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine set an immigration quota for foreigners and stateless persons in the country this year at 3 768 people, which is 620 people less than previous year’s quota.
According to the document, the quota for relatives of citizens of Ukraine (full brothers and sisters, grandparents, grandchildren) is 875 people; for persons who previously obtained Ukrainian citizenship - 498 people; for parents, spouses and minor children of immigrants - 2007 people; scientists and cultural figures whose immigration is in the interests of Ukraine - 280 people.
In addition, according to the quota, four highly qualified specialists or an employee whose immigration is determined by an urgent need for the country’s economy can immigrate to Ukraine.
Among other things, the quota is set at 41 people for persons who have served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for three or more years.
