Immigration is increasing in Armenia
According to the Head of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia, the migration balance (the difference between immigrants and emigrants within one year) is approximately minus 18,000.
As for the border crossing balance, for the first time since 2006, a positive figure was recorded. Over the past 12 years, positive figures in the country were recorded in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2018.
He also reported on the upward trend of labor migrants from India: in 2016, about a thousand people received residence permits in Armenia, about 900 in 2017, and 2,000 in 2018.
Citizens of the countries of the Middle East - Syria, Iraq, Lebanon most often seek refuge in Armenia.
