The State Chancellery of Moldova will for the first time independently manage the project in the field of migration
On 10 July 2017 the government of Moldova approved the signing of Amendment I to the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Chancellery of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on Program "Realizing the Migration Potential in the Republic of Moldova".
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the negotiations between the parties, Phase II of project "Strengthening the Institutional Framework of the Republic of Moldova in the Field of Migration and Development" (MIDIDOM) will be fully managed by the State Chancellery.
It is for the first time, that in the field of diaspora, migration and development, the donor institution transfers the project management, including financially, directly to the beneficiary institution – the State Chancellery.
The MIDIDOM project is carried out by the Diaspora Office within the State Chancellery, which capacities were consolidated in the project’s first phase, allowing it to manage and implement the second phase of the MIDIDOM project itself. The project implementation will contribute to the realization of the national strategy "Diaspora-2025", consolidating the positive impact of the migration phenomenon on the socio-economic development of Moldova by strengthening the national and local institutional framework. It will also contribute to the involvement of Moldovan migrants in development of localities through the transfer of knowledge acquired abroad, as well as the creation of services for migrants and their families.
