Travel agencies to notify border authorities of Moldova on arrival of tourist groups
The Investment Agency and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of Moldova will cooperate in order to provide tourists traveling by buses with effective border crossing assistance during this summer.
Thus, through an electronic communication channel, the travel agencies will be able to notify the border authorities about the arrival of the groups of tourists in advance of 24 hours. Operational exchange of information on date, time, border crossing point, data bus and passenger number will help to distribute resources efficiently and provide more effective assistance. Thus, the time of verification of documents will reduce significantly and the buses will no longer stand in queues.
The new electronic communication platform will launch a two-week test period on Monday, 27 May, then it will continue to operate on a permanent basis.
The statistics on the number of border crossings shows that Romania, the Russian Federation, Austria, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, China, Italy and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are among the top countries which citizens visit Moldova.
