The Council of Ministers of Bulgaria approved draft bilateral agreements with Belarus and Georgia to regulate labour migration.
The current trend of economic growth and a reduction in the unemployment rate in Bulgaria are prerequisites for increasing the demand for labor in some economic sectors.
Bulgaria has signed similar agreements with Armenia and Moldova to help meet labour demand of Bulgarian businesses in certain economic sectors. There are ongoing negotiations also with Ukraine.
It is envisaged in the documents that in the territory of the receiving state the workers from those countries should enjoy the same labor rights, duties and protection as local workers.
On the Bulgarian side, responsibility for compliance with the agreements rests with the National Employment Agency.
