The EU intends to expand the training program for the coast guard of Libya

According to the publication in Welt am Sonntag, the EU plans to train and supply boats and land vehicles not only military force of the Libyan coast guard, but also police units involved in the protection of the coast.

For this purpose, European Commission will allocate 30 million euros, 16 million euros will provide Italy. It is noted that the Italian side will also take on training of the Libyan police, which will take place outside the framework of the EU mission Sophia on struggle against illegal carriers of refugees in the Mediterranean Sea.
