Georgia receives 146 mln USD in remittances in May 2019

Georgia received $145.8 million from abroad in May 2019, which is 11.8% more than the amount in May 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.

93.9% of the total money transfers from abroad came from 18 largest donor countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 mln USD in May 2019.

Russia ($34.80 million), Italy ($20.31 million) and Greece ($16.64 million) were the largest remittance senders in May 2019.

In May 2019, remittances leaving Georgia totalled $20.5 million.
