Joint checkpoints on Ukrainian-Slovak border to start working soon – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that joint checkpoints on Ukrainian-Slovak border will soon start working.

"We have outlined specific steps in border guard cooperation. Yesterday I listened to a report by Head of the State Border Guard Service that we are to initiate work of joint checkpoints, which will help with both shortening time needed to cross our border, the friendship of Ukraine and Slovakia, and the decisive battle against corruption at border crossings, while the joint examination will make this procedure transparent and efficient," he said at a joint press conference with Slovakian President Andrej Kiska in Kyiv on Wednesday.
