The volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks via electronic systems from January to July 2019 increased by 8.1% compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to USD 960.6 million
From the beginning of 2019, Georgia received 7.6% less remittances from Russia compared to the same period last year. In January-July, remittances from Russia accounted for 24.7% of the total volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks via electronic transfer systems. The total volume of money transfers from Russia this year amounted to 237.5 million dollars. The list of six leading countries also include Italy, Greece, the USA, Israel and Turkey.
From January to July 2019, USD 128.2 million was transferred from Georgia abroad, which is 0.4% less than in the same period of 2018.
